Video of Azaan in Spain’s Alhambra goes viral

A video of a Syrian, Mouaz Al-Nass, went viral after he gave the Azan in Spain’s Alhambra Palace.

Nass said he felt the walls of the palace, built by Muslims, missed ‘hearing the call to Allah’.

Mouaz Al-Nass was born in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

According to the information available on his Facebook page, he studied Inshad and Maqamat under experts while studying Tajweed and Fiqh under his father, Dr. Samir Al-Nass, a scholar from Syria.

Mouazz posted the video on September 7. In less than 48 hours, the video has been reshared more than 18,000 times

Muslims came to Spain in AD 711 under the command of Tariq ibn Ziyad, who landed with his army at a spot which was named ‘Jabl al Tariq’ (Rock of Tariq). The location is known nowadays as Gibraltar.
