ISLAMABAD: United States (US) Ambassador to Pakistan, David Hale met with Minister for Interior, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Thursday and discussed matters relating to bilateral ties and cooperation, and overall regional security situation.

During the meeting Ch. Nisar expressed deep concerns over statements of some US Congress members and other officials regarding role of Pakistan in fight against terrorism.

“Pakistan and its citizens have sacrificed a lot in war against terror but it is regrettable that US parliamentarians have no realization that how much it lost to curb the menace,” he said in a statement issued here.

The Minister said such statements cause strong reaction in Pakistan against the US.

Ch. Nisar said un-necessary criticism and practice of levelling false allegations on Pakistan’s serious efforts for peace in the region create hurdles in attaining mutual interests.

The Minister said the achievements in war on terror reflect Pakistan’s sincere efforts it made for security of the region.

Ch. Nisar said the US government acknowledges achievements made during on-going war against terrorism, especially Zarb-e-Azb for lasting peace in the region.

The US Ambassador lauded the steps taken by Ministry of Interior and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in security and immigration areas.
