NEW YORK: United Nations (UN) associate spokesman Farhan Haq has asked Pakistan and India to take steps to ease tension.

While addressing a press briefing in New York he said that the two neighboring countries should have resolved their bilateral issues through dialogue and the UN would encourage the peace process.

Adviser to the Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz had said on Monday that dialogues with India would be of no use if it did not address Kashmir and water issues.
