UN observers visit working boundary near Sialkot

ISLAMABAD: United Nations Military Observers Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) has visited working boundary near Sialkot inside Pakistani territory to hold fact finding mission over request of Pakistan Army after unprovoked firing by Indian forces on civilians, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in its recent statement.

ISPR said that UNMOGIP military officers visited villages mostly effected by the Indian unprovoked firing on working boundary near Sialkot. The officers were taken to the villages by helicopters from Rawalpindi to visit Saleh Pur, Chaprar and Malane in Chaprar Sector.

The officers also met wounded civilians and witnessed the damage caused to civilian structures in the area to investigate such incidents or violations by either side as per UN resolution.
