WASHINGTON: The US government, which had been advising Pakistan for years to give up capital panishments, has now announced to resume federal executions after a break of 16 years.

In this connection, five convicted murderers will be executed, US Attorney General Bill Barr announced Thursday.

Barr has directed the Federal Bureau of Prisons to adopt a new lethal injection protocol to clear the way to carry out death sentences.
