Ties with US could be affected by stopping Pak’s aid: Tariq Fatemi

Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi has cleared to the US government that if they stop Pakistan’s aid then the ties between both countries could be affected.

In an interview, Fatemi said, President Barack Obama and Foreign Minister John Kerry are the friends of Pakistan and always defended the interest of our country. He hoped that they would manage to convince the US senate to continue Pakistan’s military aid.

PM’s Special Assistant on Foreign Affairs said US senate hasn’t blocked Pakistan’s aid, but they enforced some conditions. “Convincing the senate is not Pakistan’s issue, we has already informed Obama administration that stopping Pakistan’s aid could affect ties between both countries”.

Talking about F-16s deal with the US, he told talks are going on with US authorities in this regard and soon the issued will be solves.

In reply to a question regarding operation in North Waziristan, Fatemi replied that he situation is totally against what it has been portrayed in the US. About 0.18 million troops and Air Force of Pakistan are taking part in operation against the militants in the area, he added.
