Three more children die of measles in Jacobabad, Khairpur

KHAIRPUR: Measles is spreading fast in Sindh as the disease has claimed three more lives in Khairpur and Jacobabad districts.

Sources said that the outbreak of measles took two lives in district Khairpur’s Muhalla Usmanabad near Setharja. They said that 10 others were hospitalised at the basic health centre.

Four-year-old Kaveeta and three-year-old Jiya died of measles attack while 10 children were transferred to hospital.

The District Health Officer of Khairpur said that a medical team had been sent to Setharja to collect data. He added that the team would find out if the victims had been administered the anti-measles vaccines or not.

Meanwhile, another three-year-old child succumbed to the deadly disease in Jacobabad.

Hospital sources said that the latest death was reported in Thul.

They said that the death toll from measles has reached 50 in Jacobabad during the last 45 days.
