PESHAWAR: At least 15 persons were killed and 15 others injured in a suicide attack in the premises of lower courts in tehsil Shabqadar of district Charsadda Monday morning.
According to Charsadda police, the suicide bomber blasted himself inside the courts premises, killing at least 15 people including a policeman and wounded 15 others.
The police said the bomber was intercepted in the interior gate of lower courts (Kacheri) before detonating his explosive vest wrapped around his body. The casualty figure may increase further. The blast occurred when scores of people were present in the court premises.
The injured are being rushed to hospital for treatment. The security forces and police cordoned off the area and started investigation.
Police constable Nasimullah Khan was also martyred in the attack.
