There will be no NIC requirement in next population census: Asad Umar

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Planning Asad Umar has said that there would be no requirement of national identity cards in the coming population census.

The Pak Army’s duty will only be to provide security during the census, the federal minister said.

Addressing the event here, Asad Umar said that census is necessary for future planning in the country. Despite having the modern technology, the census is held after 10 years and sometimes even after 15 years.  later and after the census, it is necessary to use modern technology in the world.

Last month, Federal Minister for Planning Asad Umar had said that the party imposed in Sindh does nothing for masses.

Addressing a rally, the minister had said that the federal government was making efforts to solve problems of Karachi since the PTI believes in public service.

Asad Umar had said that the PPP had been ruling in Sindh for 13 years but did nothing for the masses. Most of the mega projects in Karachi are funded by the federal government, he claimed.

The federal minister had claimed that the problem of public transport in the city has been resolved. The Centre gave the mega city the Green Line Bus service, he added.
