Sugar prices decreased after PM’s order to bring sweetener stocks to markets

LAHORE: After Prime Minister Imran Khan’s announcement to bring sugar stocks to the market, the price of sweetener has decreased in different cities.

The ex-mill price of one kg of sugar reduced to Rs100 in Karachi and Rs105 per kg in wholesale market.

At Lahore’s Akbar, the sugar is now available from Rs105 per kg to Rs110, while in Quetta the price of sweetener has decreased by Rs20 per kg to Rs140 from Rs160.

In different districts including Bannu, Mardan, Nowshera and Peshawar, the sugar is now available at Rs90 per kg.

It is may be mentioned here believed that in different cities, sugar was being sold at between Rs140 per kg and Rs160.

Later, the prime minister had instructed to bring the sugar stocks to the markets.
