JI warns of laying siege to punjab assembly

ISLAMABAD: Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Senator Sirajul Haq on Thursday said that the centre and Sindh were trying to conquer each other instead of fighting the coronavirus pandemic.

Speaking in the Senate here, Sirajul Haq said that both the federal and the provincial governments were busy in fighting with each other rather than battling with the pandemic. He added that they had worn maks on faces but had not put a lock on their tongues.

He stressed on the need to make coronavirus tests free of charge as people do not get them tested due to financial issues. He also demanded of setting up laboratories in the far flung areas of the country.

The JI Ameer criticised the government for charging double air fares and receiving hotel rent from the overseas Pakistanis who had returned home.

Siraj urged the government to return the air fares and hotel rent to the expatriates.

About the situation in occupied Kashmir, the JI chief said that the Indian forces were using the coronavirus as a weapon in the valley.
