LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Ameer Sirajul Haq has said that the Sindh government should leave stubbornness and withdraw the black LG law.

The JI leader said that when the mayor of Karachi with a population of three million does not get the power then what is the benefit of the election exercise? He asked if the mayor of Karachi would just hold the broom and clean streets.

Sirajul Haq said that the purpose of establishing city governments is to delegate powers to the lower level. He questioned if depriving people of basic rights is democracy?

The JI chief said that if the PPP is a democratic party then it should listen to the people sitting on the roads for the past 18 days. He said that Sindh’s municipal law should be made in consultation with all stakeholders.
