KARACHI: Sindh’s Criminal Prosecution (Amended) Bill 2016 has been challenged in the Supreme Court (SC).

A petition was filed by a citizen in the apex court challenging Sindh’s Criminal Prosecution (Amended) Bill 2016 which has been approved recently by the provincial government.

The petition stated Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah, Chief Secretary and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Khawaja Izharul Hasan as parties.

It is noteworthy to mention here that the amended bill permitted the state to remove cases being tried in any court including anti-terrorism courts (ATCs).
