ISLAMABAD: A complete shutdown was observed by shopkeepers in Srinagar, Indian Held Kashmir (IHK) against the high-handedness of Indian armed forces.
Call for shutdown was given by Gojwara Traders Federation and All Kashmir Traders Federation of the city after a shopkeeper, Sajjad Ahmad Khan, sustained pellet injuries in clashes erupted between youth and forces at Gojwara, Kashmir Media Service reported.
All shops and establishments remained closed in the city and the traders staged a sit-in at Gojwara Chowk against high-handedness by police and Central Reserve Police Force.
Sajjad runs a blanket shop at Gojwara Chowk. He is undergoing treatment at Soura hospital.
“During clashes, forces ransacked our shops and thrashed us without any provocation,” the protesting shopkeepers said.
