Shoaib Akhtar keen to have a team in PSL

Ex-Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhter has expressed desire to own a team in Pakistan Super League.

‘Everyone is excited about PSL, so am I,’ Akhtar said. ‘It’s like a gift to the nation. It is the brand of Pakistan and I am interested in buying a team in PSL.’

He wants to ‘carve out more Shoaib Akhters’ who could bowl at 100mph out of fresh players.

PSL T-20 tournament will be held in February 2016.

Akhter met Chairman PSL Najam Sethi to discuss about his plan for the upcoming tournament.

PSL will feature franchise-based teams from the provincial capitals – Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta and Islamabad – with prize money of $1 million. The full schedule is yet to be announced for the 24-match event.

The PCB already announced its preliminary plans for the PSL, including the announcement of Kevin Pietersen, Shakib Al Hasan and Dwayne Bravo as headline stars in a glitzy ceremony on Sunday night.
