KARACHI: Renowned journalist, columnist, intellectual, poet and author Shahnawaz Farooqui has been appointed as a Chief Editor at Daily Jasarat.
The position of Chief Editor fell vacant after the demise of Athar Ali Hashmi, who passed away on Aug 6. Besides Mr Hashmi, Abdul Karim Abid, Muhammad Salahuddin and Mahmood Ahmed Madni had served as chief editor at the Daily Jasarat, which was founded in 1970.
The newly-appointed chief editor, Shahnawaz Farooqui, has over three decades of journalism experience and remained associated with a number of reputable news organisations.
A graduate from the University of Karachi, Mr Farooqui also worked for Pakistan Television Corporation. He began his career as a columnist from Daily Jasarat in 1990. He has an in-depth knowledge of both national and international affairs.
