ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F (JUI-F) has opposed the presidential reference filed in the Supreme Court regarding the Senate elections.

JUI-F submitted its written submissions to the Supreme Court stating that the presidential reference was tantamount to inadmissibility and disrespect to Parliament.

The court also accepted the plea of Senator Raza Rabbani to be a party in the case.

On behalf of the government, Attorney General Khalid Javed Khan submitted written submissions. He said that the presidential reference relates to the scope of Article 226 and is admissible under Article 186.
