ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi has sought the opinion of the Supreme Court on the issue of show of hands in the Senate elections.

According to a local TV, the president has approved the Prime Minister’s proposal to send a reference to the Supreme Court under Article 186 and signed the reference under Article 186.

He has sought the opinion of the Supreme Court on the issue of open ballot, show of hands in the Senate elections.

The president has sought the opinion of the Supreme Court to amend Section (6) 122 of the Election Act 2017 without amending the Constitution.
