SC to hear case on media vulgarity

KARACHI: The Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) is going to hear a case pertaining to vulgarity and obscene content on media, on Tuesday.

Earlier JI former chief Qazi Hussain Ahmed (Late) and subsequently the then JI Karachi chapter head Muhammad Hussain Mehnati had filed application before the apex court in regard with the obscene content on media.

The application was accepted for further proceeding and the court on May 24 during hearing of the case had ordered Pemra and PTA to file a report before the court in this regard.

JI Karachi chief Engr. Naeem-ur-Rehman has said that the petition posses a great importance and viewed that the future of our generations is associated with the issue that was raised in the petition.

On the occasion, he strictly criticized the bodies of Pemra and PTA for their badly failure in playing any positive role in regard to control the vulgarity on media.

He also demanded of the government to take necessary action in this regard.
