Indian pre-conditions against Ufa agreement: Aziz

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s National Security Adviser Sartaj Aziz talked to media before leaving for India for a possible meeting with his Indian counterpart and said that he is ready to present three dossiers of Indian agency RAW’s involvement in promoting terrorism in Pakistan.

Aziz told media and international community that Pakistan and India agreed to ease tensions through dialogue.

“Is it considerable that a country like India will cancel a ministerial meeting on such flimsy grounds??”, asked Sartaj Aziz.

Pakistan NSA says he is ready to visit India if it did not cancel talks and set pre-conditions.

The Pakistan NSA laid stress upon the fact that the biggest outstanding issue between India and Pakistan is the ‘Kashmir’ issue and talks without this issue on table will prove an exercise in futility.

If Kashmir is not an issue, why India has to put its seven lac soldiers to keep it under occupation?, Why Kashmiri people are always protesting for their right of self determination.

“When I go to India I meet different political leaders, when they come they meet opposition and other leaders. It’s strange that they will expect that discussion on meeting with Hurriyat will become part of agenda; it’s not a substantial item”, clarified Aziz.

Aziz also expressed concern over Kashmir leader Shabbir Shah’s arrest in New Delhi by saying that ” We’re very disturbed about arresting of Hurriyat leaders as it’s a violation of their fundamental rights”

Pakistan had proposed a comprehensive agenda, consistent with the decisions taken by the two Prime Ministers in Ufa, which included discussion on all outstanding issues, including Kashmir, as well as terrorism related matters, and other issues such as religious tourism, release of fishermen and peace and tranquility on the LoC.

Indian Minister for External Affairs, Ms Sushma Swaraj will also address the media shortly in New Delhi clearing the air on the NSA level talks.
