KARACHI: Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani said on Monday that schools would remain opened as per schedule in the province.

However, he said that the educational institutions would only be closed wherever needed.

Speaking to a local TV following a NCOC meeting, the provincial education minister said that the Covid-19 situation had been reviewed in all the major cities during the meeting.

He was of the view that the situation in Sindh and Balochitsan was under control as the positivity rate was not that high in the two provinces.

Yesterday, the rate of positvity was 2.6 per cent in Sindh, Saeed Ghani said.

He said that the schools were being closed only in the some selected areas in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhawa.

For the time being the schools will remain opened in Sindh and only those are being closed where cases have been reported, the education minister added.
