ISLAMABAD: The government has specified Rs 31,716.370 million for various ongoing water schemes and new projects under Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for next fiscal year 2016-17.
According to budgetary documents, a sum of Rs 28,316.370 has been allocated for various ongoing schemes with foreign assistance of Rs 1,150 million.
Under the ongoing schemes, Rs 5,000 million has been earmarked for Kachhi Canal Project, Rs 2,000 million for extension of Right Bank Outfall Drain from Sehwan to Sea, Rs 3,000 million for Nai Gaj Dam, Rs 1,000 million each for construction of 100 delay action
dams in Balochistan, Darwat Dam, Kurram Tangi Dam and Raising of Mangla Dam, Rs 1,500 million for Lower Indus Right Bank Irrigation, Rs 1,300 million for Balochistan Effluent Disposal into RBOD, Rs 700 million for construction of Basool Dam, Rs 650 million for construction of Mangi dam, Rs 500 each for construction of Palao/Kundal/Sanam dams and construction of small storage dams (Sindh), Rs 900 million for remodeling of Warsak Canal System and Rs 836 million for re-construction of Shadi Kour Dam.
An amount of Rs 3,400 million has allocated for various new schemes in the next PSDP. A sum of Rs 1,000 million has been earmarked for CRBC 1st Lift Cum Gravity Project (D I Khan), Rs 300 million for construction of 100 small dams in Balochistan, Rs 450 million for construction of small dams in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Rs 50 million each for Sukleji Dam, Tank Zam Dam, Uch Wani Chutair Ziara, Umarzai Dam and Waam Tangi Harnai.
