Remains of 23 PIA crash victims flown to Islamabad for DNA testing

ABBOTTABAD: Remains of 23 out of a total 47 victims of the PIA plane crash have been flown from the Ayub Medical Complex to Islamabad’s PIMS Hospital.

Speaking to the media, State Minister for Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said that remains of victims are being transported PIMS for their identification through DNS tests.

He added that the bodies will not be handed over to their heirs before DNA tests.

He said that the body of renowned religious figure Junaid Jamshed has not been identified as yet.

The minister said that army helicopters are transporting the bodies to Islamabad.
