LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), General Secretary Liaqat Baloch has said that although the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) has rejected the Terms of References (ToRs) put forward by the government but it does not mean that the Panama leaks, the Dubai property leaks and other mega corruption scandals can be buried under the carpet.

Addressing a high-level party meeting at Mansoora on Saturday, Liaqat Baloch said that after clear evidence, the ministers were fighting a lost battle. He said that fresh difficulties were arising both the government and the democratic forces and the collusion of corruption and terrorists was a threat to the national security.

He said the government should ahead for legislation in the light of the directions of the Chief Justice to ensure an effective and fruitful investigation.

The JI SG said that accountability should not be confined to the Prime Minister and his family but should cover all corrupt elements and families.
