Qaim chairs meeting on law and order in Sindh

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that the safe recovery of barrister Awais Shah and arrest of Amjad Sabri’s killers are a big challenges for the government.

Therefore, Rangers and police in coordination with other agencies, have to work out these both the cases.

This, he said while presiding over a law and order meeting here at the CM on Saturday.

The meeting was attended by provincial ministers, Syed Murad Shah, Sohail Anwar Siyal, Syed Nasir Shah and Dr Qayoom Soomro.

Director General of Rangers Sindh. Major General Bilal Akbar, briefed the Chief Minister on targeted operation and so far progress made in the cases of Awais Shah and Amjad Sabri.

IG Police Amjad Sabri told the Chief Minister that some arrests have been made in Amjad Sabri murder case in which important clues to reach at the killers, have been achieved.

He added that all the law enforcing agencies are working in close coordination for safe and sound recovery of Awais Shah.

The Chief Minister directed his Special Assistant on Religious Affairs, Dr Qayoom Soomro, to form district peace committees in all the districts and activate them where are already constituted.

Sindh Chief Minister directed the DG Rangers and IGP to take necessary measures to work out both the cases of Awais Shah and Amjad Sabri.

The Chief Minister contradicted the rumors of change in the Sindh cabinet.
