Protests: Four cops injured as Karachi’s Malir area turns into ‘battle ground’

KARACHI: Clashes are continued to take place between police and protesters in Malir 15 area as angry demonstrators are hurling stones at police.

At least four policemen was injured as protesters took to the streets against the recent arrests of religious and political leaders in Karachi. They blocked traffic on the National Highway and stopped trains on their tracks.

Police pelted tear-gas shells at the protesters to disperse them. The protesters hauled heavy trailers to block Jinnah Avenue, obstructing traffic flow.

The long queues of cars also affected traffic flow on Shahrah-e-Faisal.
