Lahore: Prisoners have been allowed to spend time with their wives in jails in Punjab.
In this connection, the Punjab home department has issued a notification.
It says a prisoner can spend three days in every three months with his wife at the family homes of the jails. Besides, a child upto five years of age of the couple may also accompany them in the jail.
The order will be implemented immediately.
The prisoner or his spouse will be required to submit an application for spending time at the family home. Later, the deputy commissioner concerned after verification of the marriage certificate will give permission to use the family home.
