Prices hike due local medicine sold as foreign brand: NAB

National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) prosecutor revealed before the court that Pakistani medicines were sold in the market as multinational brand.

The hearing of medicine price hike case was performed in an accountability court in Islamabad today (Tuesday).

The NAB officials presented managing director of a private pharmaceutical company and a few employees arrested in the case before Justice Mubashir court.

During the hearing NAB’s prosecutor told the court that the local brand were sold in the market in name of foreign brands. This is the main cause of price hike.

Local brand medicines were sold on the basis of fake certificate as well, he added.

The prosecutor demanded to extend the remand of accused arrested in the case.

The court accepted the demand of NAB’s prosecutor and extended the remand for seven days.
