President stresses need for providing skills to youth

ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain has stressed the need for provision of different skills to youth to prepare them to play role for better future of the country.

He was addressing an award distribution ceremony of National Vocational and Technical Training Commission in Islamabad on Monday.

The President said a constructive force for bright future of the country can be prepared by giving training to youth in different skills.    He said the Government has launched Prime Minister’s Youth Skill Development Programme which is going on successfully.

The President said that 35,000 youth have completed their skills training in the third phase of the programme.

He said the youth selected from four provinces, AJK, Gilgit Baltistan and Islamabad have been given training free of cost and will be provided with tool kits.

He said National Vocational and Technical Training Commission has set up placement centres in Lahore and Karachi to facilitate the selection of skilled workers.  He pointed out that the Commission is determined to set up these centres at district headquarters level in the country.
