Police kill 3 TTP terrorists in Lahore encounter

LAHORE: Police in Lahore claim to have arrested  a terrorist involved in the  2009 attack on Sri Lankan cricket team which shut doors of international cricket in Pakistan.

According to details, police on a tip off raided a house in Daroghawala  neighbourhood of Baghbanpura area of the city.

The terrorists present inside the hideout opened fire on police personnel. Three of the terrorists namely Hafeez alias Mehmood Ahmed, Yasir and Qasim Rafiq  were killed in retaliatory fire by police.

All the three terrorists belong to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

Police officials claim that Hafeez alias Mehmood Ahmed is involved in the 2009 attack on Sri Lankan cricket team.

It must be noted that the Sri Lankan cricket team was attacked on March 3, 2009 in Lahore when the team was moving from hotel to Qaddafi stadium.
