Islamabad: Marrium Aurangzeb, the spokesperson for PML-N on Saturday demanded release of Opposition Leader in the Punjab Assembly Hamza Shehbaz from the National Accountability Bureau custody.

Recently, the opposition leader in Punjab Assembly had filed a bail plea in the Supreme Court in an assets beyond means of income case and money laundering case.

Marrium termed the custody of Hamza Shehbaz as a political vengeance.

She demanded action against the NAB for punishing innocent people.

The spokesperson said that more than 50 times Hamza Shehbaz had appeared in the court regarding baseless charges.

NAB has failed to provide any corruption proof against the PML-N leader, Marriyum said.

On Thursday, former prime minister and PML-N leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi had said that the National Accountability Bureua NAB had destroyed the country.

The former prime minister while speaking to the media said that coronavirus pandemic was the main challenge right now but the government was busy in fighting with the provinces.

He said that it was the prime minister’s duty to unite the country but instead he divided the nation.

Abbasi added:”We still dont what is the case against us.” Two years on, but NAB has failed to file a case, he said.
