PM to chair two meetings to discuss NAP, border security

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is chairing two high-level meetings today to discuss the situation at the border where the Indian Army has continued unprovoked firing several times this week.

The first meeting invites all four chief ministers to the Prime Minister House to discuss the National Action Plan.

All provincial chief ministers including CM Gilgit-Baltistan have arrived to attend the meeting.

Adviser on National Security Nasir Janjua will brief the meeting which would also be attended by Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, DG ISI, DG IB and others.

The Prime Minister will chair a second National Security Committee meeting. which will be attended by all military wing chiefs, Chairman Joint Chief of Army Staff, DG ISI, DG IB, National Security Advisor and the Defence Minister and others. Chief Ministers of all four provinces will also attend this meeting.

The foreign secretary Aizaz Chaudhry will brief the members over rising tensions between India and Pakistan.

Earlier today, the Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif met the Prime Minister to discuss the situation on the border, sources said.
