PM leaves for Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday departed for Central Asian countries Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan on a two-day official visit.

The PM will hold one-on-one meeting with the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow , besides that the premier will also head Pakistani side in delegation-level talks with Turkmenistan.

The two sides will consider cooperation in different sectors including trade. Both the countries will also sign a number of agreements and MOUs for cooperation in diverse fields.

Nawaz Sharif said Pakistan attaches great importance to enhancing its relations with Central Asian republics, in his statement before leaving  for Turkmenistan.

The government has a vision of increasing energy, trade and rail and road links with Central Asian states, the PM added.

The Prime Minister will go to Kyrgyzstan where he will hold meeting with the Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambaev.
