Yemen crisis: PM, COAS to visit Saudi Arabia together

ISLAMABAD:  Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif and Army Chief Raheel Sharif will visit Saudi Arabia together on Thursday, PM office spokesman said.

According to the prime minister office spokesman the premier and the army chief will leave for Saudi Arabia along with delegation to discuss Yemen crisis with the Saudi leadership.

The PM Nawaz Sharif and the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) will meet the Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz and other leaders of the Saudi kingdom.

Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, the PM’s special assistant on foreign affair Tariq Fatemi, foreign Secretary  Aizaz Chaudhry will also be part of the Pakistan delegation.

Earlier, the PM also presided consultative meeting today regarding upcoming visit to Saudi Arabia, the COAS also attended the meeting.

Yemen crisis and latest Middle East situation was discussed in the meeting and the PM has hailed Saudi Arabia decision to halt its operation in Yemen.

On Tuesday it was reported that the PM Nawaz Sharif will leave for Saudi Arabia.
