ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed anger over non-fulfillment of wheat procurement targets.

Addressing the meeting, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that it is our duty as a government to save every penny of the nation. There is abundant wheat in the country, provinces should take steps against hoarding.

Expressing anger over non-fulfillment of wheat procurement targets, the prime minister said that the people could not be put in any predicament.

He said that the federal government would provide flour at a lower price in any case and was providing all possible assistance in this regard.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the federal government would also extend all possible help to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government. Serving the poor people is the first duty, he added.

Issuing orders to set up an urgent committee for transparent distribution of imported wheat in the provinces, the Prime Minister said that cheap and best quality wheat should be imported.

He said that the price of 10 kg flour should be maintained at Rs490.
