PCB suspends Quetta Gladiators’ Umar Akmal hours before the opening of PSL-5

LAHORE: Quetta Gladiators’s Umar Akmal has been suspended by the Pakistan Cricket Board after initiating inquiry against him here Thursday.

According to the PCB’s press release, the middle order batsman is being investigated under the PCB Anti-Corruption Code’s Article 4.7.1.

Now Akmal cannot play cricket until the completion of the PCB’s ongoing inquiry against him.

The PCB announced that it would not issue further details as the probe is underway.
