Panama leaks: Khursheed Shah names Raza Rabbani for JC head

ISLAMABAD: Opposition leader in the National Assembly, Khursheed Shah, rejected appointment of Justice (retd.) Sarmad Jalal Usmani as head of to be formed Judicial Commission (JC) to probe allegations of Panama leaks. Shah named Chairman Senate Raza Rabbani for leading the commission.

Khursheed Shah said wife of the retired judge is member of ruling political party Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) who had announced in an interview that “Usmani will also join PML-N after his retirement.” He added they respect Sarmad Jalal Usmani but opposition disapproved his appointment as JC head.

Shah said Raza Rabbani is the most eligible person for the task. He demanded the government for provision of rights and technical staff to Raza Rabbani for carrying out investigation into the matter. He added the commission should comprise members equally from both sides including government and opposition.
