Pakistan’s liquid foreign reserves announced

KARACHI: The total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood at US$ 22,623.2 million on August 12, 2016.

This was announced by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) here on Thursday.

It said that the break-up of the foreign reserves position is as under:

i) Foreign reserves held by SBP: US$ 17,719.6 million.

ii) Net foreign reserves held by commercial banks: US$ 4,903.6 million.

iii) Total liquid foreign reserves: US$ 22,623.2 million.

During the week ending 12 August 2016, SBP’s Liquid FX Reserves increased by US$ 56 million to US$ 17,720 million, compared to US$ 17,664 million in the previous week, it was further stated.
