The Pakistani Embassy added that violations of UAE law could lead to severe legal action.

Last month, the United Arab Emirates had decided to lift major Covid testing restrictions for Pakistani passengers entering the Gulf country.

The UAE authorities have waived the requirement of rapid antigen test at the airports for passengers from Pakistan. Pakistan nationals will only have to present a negative COVID PCR test at the UAE airports.

They said that the duration of 45 hours will be considered from the time when the passenger submitted his sample to laboratory.

According to the new laws, the passengers will undergo a COVID PCR test at Dubai airport. They will have to quarantine unless the result came back.

Earlier during the Covid pandemic, 10,000 Pakistanis were terminated from their jobs in the United Arab Emirates due to coronavirus pandemic.

According to Pakistan’s Consul General Ahmed Amjad Ali, 35,000 Pakistanis were willing to fly to Pakistan. They had been registered with the Consulate, he added.

He said that arrangements were being made to transport 10,000 Pakistanis, who had lost jobs in the UAE, to home.

Ali added that arrangements had been completed to screen the passengers at the Dubai airport.

He said that evacuation of a large number of Pakistanis is a big challenge.
