Pakistan Railways to set special counters to facilitate Hyd-Khi commuters

HYDERABAD: The Pakistan Railways would set up special counters at the Railways Stations of Hyderabad and Karachi to facilitate the commuters who were suffering inconvenience due to construction of M-9 project of National Highways Authority.

The spokesman of Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry informed here on Thursday that the Divisional Superintendent Railways Karachi, Nisar Memon, assured a six member HCCI delegation-led by Chairman HCCI Sub-Committee on Railways, Ziauddin Qureshi.

The delegation apprised the problems, being faced by the citizens of Hyderabad following construction of M-9 (Motorway) from Hyderabad to Karachi and emphasized the need of staring Rail Car Service from Hyderabad to Karachi in order to make the travelling of commuters safe.

The DS Railways assured the delegation that he would approach the high-ups of Railways for starting Rail Car Service, however, he on the occasion directed setting up special counters for the citizens of both the cities at concerned railways stations.

He also assured the delegation of starting advance booking of the seats in the trains adding that railways tickets for economy and air-condition classes from Hyderabad to Karachi are being sold on special concession.

The other members of the delegation included Syed Yawar Ali Shah, Abdul Sattar Khan, Zia Masroor Jaferi, Hifz-ur-Rehman and Mehmood Iqbal Jaferi.
