Pakistan now capable to diagnose coronavirus: Dr Zafar Mirza

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is now capable to diagnose coronavirus, the special assistant to the prime minister on health claimed here on Sunday.

Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Health Dr Zafar Mirza in a message posted on Twitter said: “Alhamdolilah, as of today we have now capability of diagnosing coronarivus in Pakistan.”

The SAPM appreciated the National Institute of Health for its efforts in obtaining the chemical being used to diagnose the coronavirus.

On Saturday,  Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Health Dr Zafar Mirza had said that Pakistanis on their return from China would have to undergo a 14-day observation period.

Addressing a presser on Saturday, he said that an agreement has been finalised with the Chinese envoy in Islamabad.

We are still working further on the agreement, Dr Zafar Mirza added.
