Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that when he came in the government the country was facing a record deficit.

Addressing a function in connection with the Roshan Digital Account, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the overseas Pakistanis were an important asset of the nation. When Shaukat Khanum raised funds for the hospital, most of the overseas Pakistanis participated in it.

He said that the biggest impact of the fiscal deficit is on the national currency and when the currency falls, the biggest burden falls on the poor as the depreciation of the currency increases inflation. At present, the poor and the salaried class are facing difficulties.

The prime minister said that when we came in the government we had a record deficit but now in the history of Pakistan the present government has repaid record loans and we have repaid 20 billion dollars. We have disbursed a total of Rs6,000 billion in loan installments.
