Pakistan condemns attack on Saudi Arabia mosque

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Thursday strongly condemned a deadly terrorist attack at a Mosque in Saudi Arabia  which resulted in loss of valuable lives and injuries to many people.

A statement released from Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that the people and Government of Pakistan wish to convey their heartfelt sympathies and deepest condolences to the bereaved families and pray for speedy recovery of the injured.

We share the grief of the brotherly people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia over this cowardly attack against people offering prayers.

Pakistan reiterates its condemnation of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

A suicide bomber has blown himself up at a mosque in Saudi Arabia, which was used by members of the security forces, killing at least 17 people.

Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the attack in the Asir region.

The attacker struck the mosque during the early afternoon in the city of Abha, the provincial capital, which is southeast of Mecca and not far from the Yemeni border.
