Pakistan COAS says ready to pay any price for nationhood

KARACHI: Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Saturday said that the whole Pakistani nation has expressed its resolve to fight the menace of terrorism which led the militants resort to desperate attempts.

Speaking after the Naval Academy Passing out parade in Karachi, Pakistan’s top military man said that Pakistani forces are acutely aware of enemy’s designs against the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and will defeat all their attempts to sabotage the vital project which has the potential to transform lives of the people of region.

He further said that the entire world knows Pakistan’s security concerns and recognizes the blood letting by the valiant armed forces in FATA, Karachi and during the ceasefire violations by hostile countries.

The COAS added that the CPEC along with Gwadar port will be developed as the most strategic deep sea ports in the world at any cost whatsoever.

Raheel Sharif was of the view that Pakistan has always shown willingness for peace but not at the cost of the country’s national interest be it Kashmir, development of new ports  and exploitation of natural resources.
