Pak Army to be deployed during the Azad Kashmir elections: ISPR

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Army will be deployed during the Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly elections at the request of the Election Commission of Azad Kashmir.

According to the Pakistan Army Public Relations (ISPR), the Election Commission of Azad Kashmir had requested for a safe environment during the July 25 elections.

The ISPR said that on request, the troops would be deployed as a “Quick Response Force” under Article 245 of the Constitution from July 22 to 26.

Azad Kashmir Police will be deployed for the smooth conduct of the elections for which the services of law enforcement agencies including Police and Rangers of other provinces will be sought.
