Badaber base camp attacked in Peshawar, a pictorial view

PESHAWAR: Army captain among 29 people have been martyred and 29 others were injured in a terrorists attack on Pakistan Air Force camp in Badaber, Peshawar. At least 13 militants were also killed in the encounter on Friday.

Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Major-General Asim Bajwa said that a group of militants have killed 16 people when they were offering Namaz and seven others in ablution area of the mosque.

Terrorists entered the camp at two points, splitting into sub-groups, Bajwa claimed. The firefight began immediately due to the quick response from security forces, he said.

Bajwa  said that the militants were dressed in constabulary uniforms and added that a splinter group of Tehreek Taliban Pakistan was behind the terrorist attack on the PAF camp in Badaber.

He said these terrorists had come from Afghanistan. This attack was planned and being controlled from Afghanistan. He said our intelligence agencies are carrying out further investigation into this despicable incident.

Bajwa said twenty nine people including twenty three of PAF embraced martyrdom in the attack. He said  about thirteen to fourteen terrorists entered the PAF camp at about five am while firing rocket launchers and other weapons.

Asim Saleem Bajwa said such kind of acts cannot deter our resolve in the fight against terrorism. He said the operation against terrorists will continue till their complete elimination.

The martyred were identified as Captain Asfandyar, Chief Technician Sardar Munir, Senior Technician Nadeem Javaid, Junior Technician Shahab, Cook Kareem, Cook Zain Kahn, Junior Technician Shan, Tariq Abbas, Saqib, Tariq , Stenographer Israr, Signal Man Sohaib Abbasi, civilians Asif , Saifullah, Javaid, Danial, Saad Hussain and Khateeb Ameen.
