Over 62,000 Pakistanis awaiting repatriation from abroad, FO tells FM

ISLAMABAD:  Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi intensified contacts with allied parties.

Islamabad: Over 62,000 registered Pakistanis awaiting repatriation from abroad.

This was briefed to Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi here on Tuesday during his visit to the Emergency Crisis Management Unit of the Foreign Office.

The foreign minister was told that 11,529 Pakistanis had so far been brought back.

Qureshi said that the government was utilising every possible resources to bring back the Pakistanis stranded abroad.

The foreign minister said that government was aware of the problems being faced by the overseas Pakistanis, willing to return home.

Qureshi,last week, had claimed that every week about 2,000 Pakistanis were being repatriated.
