During last five years (2011-2015), he told media that around 3,417,231 Pakistanis had proceeded abroad for employment through Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment.

The ministry, he said, was making best efforts to match the technical and vocational skills of Pakistani intending emigrants according to the international standards and requirements of the foreign employers in collaboration with National Vocational Technical Training Commission (NVTTC) at Federal level and Technical Education and Vocational Training Authorities (TEVTA) at provincial level.

Answering a question, he said at present, there was no National Policy on Labour Migration. Draft of the nation policy, he said, was drafted in 2008 but it could not be finalized due to devolution of the then Ministry under the 18th constitutional amendment.
