ISLAMABAD: The joint opposition has said that the government cannot be supported for legislation based personal basis.

This was stated in response to a letter written by National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser for legislation on important national issues.

The meeting reviewed the content of the letter written by the speaker and agreed that the legislation should be in accordance with the Constitution and law.

The committee said that the government wants to violate the Constitution in terms of the appointment of NAB chairman. The government can not be supported in terms of legislation based on a personal basis. However, consultation may be held with the government on improving laws.

The steering committee rejected the Senate chairman’s notification regarding the change of members of the Senate committee

It said that the government deliberately included two members in the committee who were threatening the election commission.
