One woman was martyred while nine people were badly wounded when Indian security forces opened unprovoked firing on the civilian population along the Line of Control, the Inter-Services Public Relations said on Monday.

In a press release, the army’s media wing said that the Indian troops violated the ceasefire in the Shahkot sector. One woman named Asia Bibi was martyred while two women and three children were among the injured.

Pakistan army troops effectively responded to the Indian post targeting civilian population, said the ISPR.

On Dec 18, two Pakistani civilians were injured in unprovoked Indian firing in the Rawlakot sector.

The wounded civilians were identified as 16-year-old Mohammad Adnan and 47-year-old Mohammad Rasheed, who were evacuated to a hospital.
